You will learn about the basics of tourism, hospitality research, how to use marketing in tourism, events tourism, hospitality marketing, cultures, managing people and money, external influences, information, strategy, and change.
You will learn about the basics of tourism by learning the definition of tourism, the aspects of tourism, and different categories of tourism. You will also learn about the different careers in tourism, methods of hospitality research, and hospitality as well as employment in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry.
In the Tourism Marketing section, you will review the definition of marketing in order for you to understand its importance, the different types of markets, and primary, secondary, qualitative and quantitative market research.
The Business of Events Tourism unit looks at different types of events such as festivals, conventions, and concerts as well as the life cycles of events and the ways to manage complex events.
The Hospitality Marketing unit will teach you about marketing for small businesses, marketing strategies, as well as internal and external marketing.
