HaroldThe Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is a global standard for assessing English proficiency in a business environment and is used by over 10,000 companies, government agencies, and English Language Learning programs in 120 countries. The questions presented on this exam simulate real life situations, which are often encountered in international organizations. The test provides employers the opportunity to assess whether a potential candidate has the language skills required for the position to which they are applying. There are two separate exams, each consisting of two parts. The first exam is comprised of listening and reading comprehension parts, while the second recently introduced exam, consists of speaking and writing.
Exam number 1:
The Listening section of the test is 45 minutes in length and consists of 100 questions which evaluate the test taker’s understanding of spoken English language.
The Reading portion assesses the test taker’s knowledge of the English language with 100 questions and lasts 75 minutes.
Exam number 2:
The first part of this exam focuses on the test-takers ability to speak the English language. This section has roughly 100 questions that will take close to 20 minutes to complete.
The final part of this exam, the written section, lasts about 60 minutes and is comprised of 100 questions.
